While there are larger quantities of marijuana such as pounds or kilos, from a cannabis enthusiast such as yourself everything is based on the ounce.


How to Measure Weed


Eights - An eighth of an ounce is roughly 3.5 grams.

Quarters - Is equal to two-eighths or 7grams.

Half Ounce - One-half ounce of weed is equal to 14 grams.


Ounce - 28 grams, needless to say, this can be a lot of weed.


Pound - A pound of weed contains 16 ounces of cannabis. Just as within ounces, buyers can also purchase quarter and half-pound measurements.

Generally, half an ounce of weed is equal to 14.175 grams. This is typically rounded down to 14 grams. When you are buying weed make sure that you look at the buds and ensure its trimmed well and that there are no seeds as that can be counted in the half ounce of weed.


How Many Grams in an Ounce of Weed


If we’re being technical, an ounce of weed is equal to 28.3495 grams. But in most cases, that gets rounded down to the nearest whole number. So 28 grams are in an ounce of weed. Again, ensure you look at the buds themselves to see that you are getting good quality product and not something that still need to be trimmed up.


Tips for Buying an Ounce of Weed.


Whenever you purchase raw flower make sure that the budtender is weighing it out in front of you, every dispensary has a digital scale for weighing cannabis. If you are buying prepackages just make sure to weigh it when you get home and account for the jar or packaging that your flower is in if there is a difference in the numbers simply let the dispensary know and they most of the time will make it right.
